Because the Dutch government is resigning, there are no major surprises in the Tax Plan for 2024 presented on Budget Day. Nevertheless, there are plenty of resolutions that can have an impact on your financial situation. Now that the House of Representatives has approved the Tax Plans for the coming year at the end of October, after a number of changes, we can update you on the Tax Plans for the coming year.

Tax Plan 2024: entrepreneurs
While the SME profit exemption and self-employed deduction are expected to decrease, the employment tax credit and the rate in bracket 1 will increase.

For private individuals, many raises were presented during Prinsjesdag: People in paid employment should have more income left over in 2024 and pensioners will also benefit. Extra attention for low incomes
On Budget Day it was announced that people with a low income or an allowance will be helped by the government in 2024. The groups that most need more financial space are met with various schemes, for which EUR 2 billion will be made available.
This measure is proposed to call a halt to the currently increasing number of people in poverty. The aim is not that that the number of people living at the subsistence level will be reduced. Instead the purpose is that it remains the same.
